RIYADH, December 23, 2019
A court in Saudi Arabia has sentenced five people to death for the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the kingdom’s consulate in Istanbul last year, reported BBC, citing the public prosecutor.
The court found 11 unnamed individuals guilty of the crime. Saud Al-Qahtani, a former royal adviser, was investigated but not charged and was released, he stated.
Five people will be executed and another three will be imprisoned for 24 years, according to a statement read at the public prosecutor’s office in Riyadh on Monday.
