Fenix expands mobility with launch of e-bikes in UAE, Qatar

DUBAI, December 8, 2021

Fenix, the leading electric mobility platform in the Middle East, has launched a new form factor as part of its fleet of electric vehicles, by providing on-demand shared electric bikes to residents and visitors in select areas of the UAE and Qatar.

The platform introduced its shared electric bikes across the region in partnership with community stakeholders. The service was initially launched in Ras Al Khaimah’s Al Marjan Island and Al Hamra communities in partnership with the Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA).

In Qatar, Fenix has entered into a micromobility partnership with Aspire Zone in Doha, to provide visitors with a safe, convenient and efficient means of transport across the sports complex via its e-bikes.

The e-bikes join a growing portfolio of mobility offerings provided by the platform, including shared e-scooters and the region’s first private e-scooter subscription service MyFenix. With a range of vehicle types and business models, Fenix is providing increasing choice to consumers to make micromobility more inclusive across consumer segments, use cases, environments and price points.

The platform operates the largest electric vehicle fleet in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey with over 10,000 vehicles.

At the launch, Fenix Co-Founder and CEO Jaideep Dhanoa said: “We are excited to launch Fenix e-bikes, expanding our choice of affordable and convenient electric mobility options for commuters to enjoy across the region. With the growing demand for more mobility options in urban and cosmopolitan cities, micromobility offers an affordable, convenient and infrastructure efficient alternative as it reduces the mobility tax we all face, increases local commerce and drives economic productivity.

"With the introduction of our e-bikes, residents and commuters in these launch areas will have access to a new, efficient and fun way to move, igniting impactful commerce across their communities. We are thrilled to partner with RAKTA in Ras Al Khaimah and Aspire in Doha, Qatar to provide residents with integrated solutions that aid in sustainable travel.”

Fenix e-bikes and e-scooters cost AED1 (27 cents) / QAR1  per minute to ride, and are the first in the region with a No Unlock Fee. Residents and visitors can enjoy their first ride free up to AED15/ QAR15 using a new user promo code, while repeat commuters can receive value savings on rides by purchasing weekly and monthly packages.

Riders can easily locate Fenix e-bikes and e-scooters by downloading the Fenix mobile application from iOS and Google Play stores, and make use of the electric vehicles 24 hours a day.-TradeArabia News Service
