Eid Al Adha on July 28, says Saudi Supreme Court

RIYADH, June 19, 2023

Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court last night announced the sighting of the Dhul Hijjah crescent, signalling the beginning of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah, one of the holiest months in the Islamic calendar.

With the crescent’s sighting, Eid Al Adha will be observed on June 28, said a court statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Dhul Hijjah is the 12th and final month of the Islamic lunar calendar, during which Muslims from all corners of the globe gather in Makkah to perform Hajj.

The Supreme Court declared that standing at Arafat will be on June 27 and Eid Al Adha the following day (June 28).
