His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, is renowned for his visionary leadership.

 

In his latest move, he has once surprised everyone by extending a unique opportunity for young leaders.

 

Through a post in microblogging platform X, formerly Twitter, he has extended an invitation to talented and promising young Emirati individuals to submit their applications for the position of Minister of Youth within the UAE cabinet.

 

According to reports, more than 5,000 people have responded to Sheikh Mohammed's invitation within hours of the post.

 

Sheikh Mohammed had said the candidate should be knowledgeable about the issues of his homeland, aware of the reality of his society, field-based in his work, rational in his approach, brave and strong in representing his country, and passionate about serving his homeland, he said in the post.

 

A translation of the X post read like this:

 

"To our young men and women in the UAE...

 

"I am looking for a distinguished young man or woman who represents youth issues, conveys his/her opinions, and follows up on government files that interest them, to be a Minister of Youth with us in the UAE government.

 

"We want him/her to be knowledgeable about the issues of the homeland, aware of the reality of the  society, field-based in work, rational in approach, brave and strong in representing the country, and passionate about serving the homeland.

 

"We ask those who find themselves competent, capable and honest to be Minister of Youth to write to us at the Council of Ministers via ContactUs@moca.gov.ae "
