Jaguar Land Rover wins big at Mecoty awards
DUBAI, December 1, 2015
Luxury automotive manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover received two prestigious automotive accolades at the second edition of the Middle East Car of the Year (Mecoty) Awards, held recently at Raffles Dubai.
Jaguar saw its new Jaguar XE win the title of Mecoty ‘Best Compact Executive Sedan’ of the year, winning against a very competitive set of established vehicles in the segment.
A statement from the company read: “Designed to offer an unrivalled combination of steering response, ride comfort, refinement and performance, the Jaguar XE has garnered a huge amount of attention since its launch and continues to make an impact here in Mena. Dubbed the true driver’s car in its segment, the Jaguar XE plays testament to Jaguar’s commitment to deliver innovative vehicle dynamics and ground-breaking performance.”
Land Rover also witnessed its Sport SVR scoop up the award for ‘Best Premium Performance SUV’. The high-performance SVR has been created by the Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) team as a natural progression beyond the core vehicle’s on- and off-roading capabilities. The SUV has undergone a thorough range of revisions taking its dynamic abilities to the next level.
Bruce Robertson, managing director, Jaguar Land Rover Mena, said: “Designed, engineered and built in Britain, both the Jaguar XE and the Range Rover Sport SVR have been tested for this region and truly demonstrate our commitment to delivering best-in-class, premium, and exhilarating driving experiences to our customers. This is a very exciting time for both our brands and we are proud to have two of our newest vehicles recognised by Mecoty which is quickly becoming one of the most prestigious automotive award platforms in this region.” -TradeArabia News Service
