Saudi, US, Russian leaders discuss co-operation for oil market stability
RIYADH, April 11, 2020
Saudi Arabia yesterday (April 10) jointly reviewed along with US and Russia, the exerted efforts in the light of the meeting of Opec+ countries, which announced a tentative deal to reduce production by 10 million barrels per day in May and June, the deepest cut ever agreed by the world's oil producers, according to Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
A marathon video conference between Opec members and other major energy powers on Thursday was held via webinar, on Thursday (April 9) under the chairmanship of Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Salman, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy, and co-chair Alexander Novak, Minister of Energy of Russia.
Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, Indonesia, Norway, Trinidad and Tobago and the International Energy Forum (IEF) also took part as observers.
Saudi King Salman along with US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in a joint call to also discuss the importance of joint co-operation among the producing countries for maintenance of stability of the energy markets in order to support the growth of the global economy.
