Paul Appleby has been appointed to the position of Chief Insights Officer at the World Energy Council (WEC).  

 

Appleby previously worked for bp for over 30 years in strategy, planning and economics leadership roles spanning oil, gas and renewables businesses. Whilst at bp he was responsible for the bp Energy Outlook, and for the development of long-term scenarios to support the strategic transformation of bp. 

 

The Chief Insights Officer is accountable for council’s thought leadership and agile action learning – including its unique, energy transition leadership toolkit which has been co-developed by its members across all world regions.
