32 French O&G suppliers join Adipec

ABU DHABI, November 15, 2021

Some 32 French companies from the Oil & Gas (O&G) sector have gathered at Adipec even as the estimated value of the country’s ongoing projects in the UAE reaches $53 billion. This comes to 20% of the total value of French ongoing projects in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

The projects include Ruwais refinery, Ta'ziz industrial zones, investment in the development of deposits in Hail, Ghasha, Delma, Nasr and Shuwaihat.

The Middle East is a strategic market for France, with a total of 20,000 French exporters; 1,100 French subsidiaries; €14.6 billion ($16.74 billion) in goods exported in 2019, becoming the 10th largest supplier in this area.

These projects open the door to many opportunities for French companies throughout the region. France and the UAE are expected to collaborate on hydrogen production.

Operated by Business France, the French Pavilion at Adipec 2021, which runs from November 15 to 18, is organised in partnership with Trouvay & Cauvin and Valsem, and will highlight a French oil and gas sector, known worldwide for its high expertise and capacity to innovate, which has succeeded in maintaining a top position as a leading equipment and services exporter.

This year, seven new exhibitors will play a part on the dynamism of the French presence at the show: Acebi, Energy Consulting Services, Exa’Air, Sensotop, Tofer & Trapil.

France ranks 3rd in the world among global exporting industries. Exporting companies also generate 70% of their turnover from export. From engineering to hydrocarbon exploration and production, via services, oil and gas equipment and new technologies, France also managed to build a sector of excellence throughout the whole value chain.

Also recognised as a key partner in complex projects, the French expertise is highly sought-after thanks to a high technical know-how in deep and ultra-deep offshore projects.

Major global leaders from France are already well established in the Middle East: Total Energies, one of Adnoc’s oldest partners, as well as Engie, Technip, Vallourec, the Eiffage group, CGG and Ponticelli, to name just a few. Total is also present since 1975 in Saudi Arabia, as a partner of Saudi Aramco in the joint-venture Satorp (Saudi Aramco Total Refining and Petrochemical) since 2018.

The pandemic and the global energy crisis accelerated the government energy transition policies which are aimed to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.-- TradeArabia News Service
