Momentum building for World Petroleum Congress in Canada

Momentum is building for the 24th World Petroleum Congress in Calgary where global policy and energy leaders will gather to discuss innovative solutions for potential paths to a net zero future.
The Congress is taking place from September 17 to 21, 2023, with strong support and participation from industry and government sponsors, strategic and technical speakers, and delegates.
As the Congress nears, the full Technical Programme has been released, and thought leaders from around the globe continue will be announced as participants in the Strategic Programme.
Diverse cross section
“The World Petroleum Council (WPC) brings together a diverse cross section of domestic and global energy and government leaders, which represents a key differentiator for the Congress,” says Dr Pierce Riemer, Director General of the WPC.

The 24th World Petroleum Congress will offer the most robust networking to date and throughout the week delegates will enjoy multiple opportunities to engage with energy peers seeking conversations, collaborations and connections to address the challenges of transitioning to a low carbon future.
The congress organizing committee (OCAN) has recognised the sponsors and partners supporting the 24th Congress, which includes domestic and international energy producers, supporting companies and government partners.
Net zero future
The participation is indicative of the industry’s commitment to addressing the world’s collective energy challenges and identifying solutions to a net zero future.

15,000 visitors
Some 15,000 visitors are expected to attend the congress which will provide groundbreaking insights, game-changing collaborations, and innovative growth opportunities where they can network with 500+ top industry speakers, mingle with 250+ exhibitors, and network with delegates from 100+ countries.
The technical programme features over 200 expert speakers representing more than 100 organisations and 30 countries, including leading energy companies such as Saudi Aramco, ExxonMobil, Chevron, Shell, and PetroChina.
Under the theme of Energy Transition: The Path to Net Zero, the programme is divided into four blocks which focus on how changes to the production, distribution, and consumption energy models will impact a specific area of the industry:
