OGN honoured for media role at top global conference

OGN energy magazine, a trade publication of the Al Hilal Group, has been recognised for its strategicmedia partnership by a leading global conference in the area of corrosion management.
The award was given by Oil and Environment Minister and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs Dr MohammedBin Daina to OGN editor Abdulaziz Khattak at the 18th Middle East Corrosion Conference and Exhibition(MECC).
Also present on stage were Saudi Aramco technical services executive vice president Wail Al Jaafari,Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE) president Raeda Al Alawi and conference chairman Mohammed AlSubaie.
Being held at the Gulf Hotel Bahrain Convention and Spa, MECC is organised by Association for MaterialsProtection and Performance (AMPP) Dhahran Chapter and BSE.
The biennial event, which marks over four decades after its launch in 1979, is recognised as a prime venuefor sharing knowledge among professionals in all areas of corrosion mitigation.
Challenge
Corrosion is a common industrial challenge that can be a great risk for people, assets and theenvironment.
“We at Saudi Aramco take these risks seriously, and we are working to safeguard our assets fromcorrosion through a comprehensive and integrated management programme, including investment indigital solutions and technologies to increase reliability and reduce costs,” said Mr Al Jaafari.
Aramco’s fourth Industrial Revolution Centre has developed in-house corrosion management solutionsmonitoring close to 6.5 million data points spanning over 35,000 parameters, including inspection, labanalysis and processing.
