CC Energy seals Oman oil, gas exploration concession deals

Oman's Ministry of Energy and Minerals has signed a concession agreement with CC Energy Development for oil and gas exploration in concession areas No. 38 and 74 that will help consolidate the productive capacity of the oil and gas sector.
Located in the southwestern part of the Dhofar Governorate, concession Area No. 38 extends 17,425 sq km long, while concession area number 74, in the south-eastern part of the governorate, covers an area of 3,064 sq km.
As per the deal, the company will conduct geological and geophysical studies and seismic surveys necessary for oil and gas prospecting in the designated zone, remarked Engineer Salim Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals, after signing the deal with Marwan Shafiq Salloum, Director of CC Energy Development Company.
The agreement reflects the ministry’s commitment to expand exploration and prospecting for oil and gas resources in the sultanate, stated Al Aufi.
The agreement also underscores the confidence of local and international investors in Oman, he added.
