Bahrain residents urged to renew passports

MANAMA, November 8, 2015

Thousands of Bahrain residents have been urged to renew their passports as the deadline for the worldwide phase-out of handwritten travel documents is fast approaching, a report said.

So-called non-machine readable passports (MRPs) will no longer be accepted by customs officials at airports after November 24, in compliance with International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) regulations, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.
