Etihad passengers travelling to the US from Abu Dhabi will now be allowed to carry their electronic devices onboard, the airline has announced.

Passengers are encouraged to make use of the US Immigration facility at Abu Dhabi Airport, which allows travellers to clear US immigration and customs formalities before flying to the US, instead of after landing, said the Abu Dhabi carrier in a statement .

Additional security checks also mean travellers can now take all their electronic devices safely on board, it added.

The customs pre-clearance facility also allows guests to through-check their baggage to their final destination in the US, said Etihad.

On landing in the US, travellers arrive as a domestic passenger with no need for immigration checks again, it added. - TradeArabia news Service
