Tourist court and prosecution launched in Abu Dhabi
ABU DHABI, August 6, 2017
To cope with the evolving tourism sector in the UAE capital, a court and prosecution for cases related to the tourism sector at the Abu Dhabi International Airport has been opened, said a report.
Yousef Saeed Al Abry, under-secretary of the Department, who inaugurated the court along with Ali Mohammed Al Balushi, attorney-general of Abu Dhabi, said the court will look into minor offences committed by tourists, said a report in WAM.
Al Balushi said the tourist prosecution will work in co-operation with relevant authorities to provide quality services on par with international best practices while emphasising adherence to the rule of law through justice and the maintenance of rights and freedoms.
"The initiative will help to create a clear database of legal issues tourists may face during their stay in the country," he said.
