The Neom Organics London mood-recognising scent

New hospitality game changers unveiled at The Hotel Show Dubai

DUBAI, September 18, 2017

Middle East hotels can now identify a guest's temperature and comfort preferences and even their mood to perfectly tailor their stay - thanks to a wide range of products being launched at this week's The Hotel Show Dubai.

With the millennial generation seeking more autonomy from hotel and dining experiences, opportunities for personalisation are on the rise, from digital check-ins to custom-built menus.

From customisable hotel beds to a fragrance range said to identify a person’s Mood, new products coming to the region at the 18th edition of the annual hospitality event are allowing hoteliers and their guests to tailor hotel stays like never before.

Newly introduced to luxury hotels across the Middle East, a range of products from the UK are said to predict a guest’s mood to allow hotels to cater a tailor-made, sense refining experience, with the aim of “transforming” negative energy.

Neom Organics London operates under the belief that ‘your body knows best what your mind needs’. Their 'Scent Therapy Test' is now being used by hotels across the region to identify and realign a guest’s underlying wellness imbalances.

It works by smelling four different scents. In just 10 seconds, the person will be naturally drawn to one of the aromas. Their choice indicates the emotion the subconscious believes needs reawakening, and their hotel stay will then be geared towards that smell.

“There are many ways to implement Neom Organics, for example as part of the welcome, guests are encouraged to smell unmarked fragrances from the ‘Scent Therapy’ board,” explained Soraya Jouzy from Pearl Tree, the regional distribution partner of Neom Organics, responsible for bringing the brand from the UK to the Middle East.

“Their preferred mood – whether it be a need for improved sleep, boosted energy, higher happiness levels or help de-stressing – is noted on their profile and used to tailor the experience throughout their stay, through integrated approaches such as personalised room misting, bath options, amenity turn up/down, gifting, proposed spa treatments and F&B options.”

Neom has created a range of award winning products that not only smell wonderful but also have true therapeutic benefits for the mind and body, helping to transform the way people feel.

Created by Nicola Elliott, a trained aromatherapist and ex-magazine journalist, Neom Organics is currently the fastest growing wellbeing brand in the UK.

Jouzy continued: “Aromas are already used throughout hotels with a hope that the scent will make guests link their property with positive memories and emotions. Pearl Tree is pioneering with Neom and hotel operators how to develop a wellbeing centric experience for hotel guests to deliver programmes to improve sleep, energy, reduced stress and improved mindfulness combining tips, food, products, services and facilities.”

Also debuting at The Hotel Show Dubai 2017 is YouBed, a customizable hotel bed from Sweden that has been making an impact on hotel guests in Europe.

By using a hand control, hotel guests can easily decide for themselves how firm or soft they prefer their bed to be set. The innovation has already been picked up by Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts for their European hotel portfolio, and is soon to launch in the Middle East.

Mattias Sörensen, CEO of YouBed, said: “YouBed is the world’s first hotel bed that provides adjustable firmness without interfering with its superior comfort features.

“We claim that the adaptable YouBed is ‘the world’s most comfortable hotel bed’, which I believe is an understatement. All guests have different comfort preferences and it is simply not possible for a normal ‘static’ bed to satisfy all guests at the same time. While only two out of 10 guests find a normal hotel bed as comfortable as the one at home, more than nine out of 10 believe YouBed to be just as or even more comfortable.”

An innovative sleep system making an impact on the hospitality industry in Europe and Asia also set to launch in the Middle East at The Hotel Show Dubai 2017 is FreshBed.

Scientifically proven to improve sleep by up to 50 per cent, FreshBed uses a system that features several unique and patented technologies which enable users to set the temperature under the duvet to their preferred levels.

Barry van Doornewaard, CEO at FreshBed, said: “Scientists have discovered that there is a thermoneutral temperature for humans between 27 and 29 degrees Celsius. In this thermoneutral temperature zone, the body does not feel hot or cold and is at rest. Outside this zone, the body will start to function, even wake-up, to correct the temperature.

“FreshBed is an innovative system focused on delivering the perfect climate under the duvet. A guest or hotel employee can set temperature and ventilation to the guest’s personal preference within the thermoneutral temperature zone. From experience, we find that women prefer the temperature under the duvet to be slightly higher than for men.

Filtering air from its base, it quietly delivers the air to the body through an ergonomic mattress. The air that is released to the guest to breathe in is free of pollen, dust and pollution as 99.97 per cent of particles are kept at bay.

“On top of delivering fresh air and regulated temperature, our climate technology and active ventilation controls the humidity level to ensure it is kept below 50 per cent relative humidity. This important benefit guarantees a fresh, clean and allergy-friendly bed. In comparison, traditional mattresses will have a relative humidity that reaches 65 – 80 per cent.”

Neom Organics, YouBed, and FreshBed can be discovered for the first time in the Middle East at The Hotel Show Dubai, 18-20th September 2017, at the Dubai World Trade Centre (Halls 1-6), co-located with The Leisure Show (Halls 7-8) – both part of Dubai International Hospitality Week.

The Dubai Tourism endorsed event, organised by dmg events and the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), is expected to attract more than 50,000 visitors.

The three-day event encompasses six hospitality and foodservice trade shows under one roof: The Hotel Show and The Leisure Show, owned and organised by dmg events; GulfHost, The Speciality Food Festival and Seafex Middle East owned and organised by DWTC; and yummex ME, jointly organised by DWTC and Kölnmesse. - TradeArabia News Service
