First Nile Boat offers trendy culinary experience
CAIRO, October 20, 2019
The newly-opened First Nile Boat by Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence is set to be Cairo’s newest trendy culinary and lifestyle location.
Located at the widest part of the west banks of the Nile, opposite Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence, the First Nile Boat is accessible from the Nile Street via a contemporary, carefully-designed dock area that exudes simplistic luxury.
As guests enter the boat they will be greeted by a perfect blend of textures, light and dark hues of the genuine teak wood floor, modern light fixtures and wall fittings that warmly welcome everyone into this uncompromising world that conveys luxury, taste and lifestyle.
Xodó: Situated on the ground floor, Xodó offers the best Brazilian ambience and carnivore-based menu in Cairo.
"Xodó" is Portuguese for an expression of a feeling of love, and that’s what will happen when guests try Chef Guilherme Reis’s menu, with its promise to deliver authentic Brazilian cuisine including the best bespoke grilled meat in a churrascaria concept. Master of craft Chef Reis has beautifully curated Xodó’s carnivore-based menu in which he has incorporated traditional Brazilian flavours.
“Although Xodó menu is ideal for meat lovers, it’s diverse, vibrant and will suit all palates,” says Chef Reis.
Popular appetisers and salads include the bolinha de quejo, a deep fried pastry filled with a blend of mozzarella, blue cheese and chili; paõ de alho grelhado, grilled garlic bread with chicken liver pate; and salada de horta com camarão, fajita-marinated prawns, greens, goat cheese crumbles, red onions and caramelised walnuts with raspberry vinaigrette.
From the grill, Chef Reis recommends the linguiça de carne com queijo, Australian veal sausage with cuiabana cheese (for two). Desserts include the South American pudim de leite condensato, the Brazilian home-made condensed milk flan; and the sorvete de frutas tropicais, the home-made tropical passion fruit, guava or sweet corn ice cream.
Xodó’s interiors feature teak wood adorning the floors and walls, giving the restaurant a rich and warm ambience. An open mise-en-place will greet guests as they enter the bar area where guests can sip on the best signature Brazilian cocktails while enjoying the panoramic view of the Nile.
Nairu: Walk into Nairu, which translates from the Nile in Japanese, and guests are greeted by a richly-coloured, teak-wood doorway and patterned floor that, during the day, perfectly complements the light and airy atmosphere from the guests' panoramic Nile view. Further immersing into this fascinating region is the colourful street-art hand-painted mural showcasing colourful, rich and storied Asian history and culture. Offering some of Asia’s most exotic dishes, Nairu Chef Mohamed Nazlan has carefully selected the best of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai and Indian cuisines to excite all senses and palates.
The restaurant features an eight-seat robatayaki station offering dishes grilled to perfection by Nairu’s chefs; head over to the opposite side of the restaurant to watch the expert and passionate sushi chefs masterfully create some of the most original, vivid and luscious sushi rolls in the capital.
Chef Nazlan’s signature dishes include the bao buns, steamed soft buns stuffed with glazed soy lemongrass beef short ribs; coconut curry turmeric chicken; crispy calamari with soy garlic coriander sauce; and sago gula melaka for dessert – chilled tapioca pearl on ice, palm sugar, coconut cream and caramel coconut ice cream.
