RIYADH, November 7, 2023
Hanan Badri, Chief People Officer of Saudi-based flyadeal, has won the ‘Executive of the Year – Airline’ award at the Middle East Management Excellence Awards 2023 from Asian Business Review Magazine.
The award is in recognition of Badri’s skills to drive change and navigate challenges, and her ability to bring a fresh and people-centric perspective to the airline’s operations, flyadeal said in a statement.
The award is a testament to her individual prowess and a reflection of flyadeal's accomplishments under her stewardship, it stated.
A case in point is, under Badri’s guidance flyadeal adopted a different strategy during Covid-induced financial losses and layoffs. Recognising the potential of domestic travel particularly when international routes were largely not feasible, the company optimised domestic flights within Saudi Arabia, and not only sustained its operations, but also effectively catered for the pent-up travel demand of the local population.
Badri was responsible for retaining its skilled employees by introducing unique working schedules without flight layovers, during this period.
flyadeal became a preferred choice for many professionals without flight layovers, made possible through the implementation of unique working schedules, said the airline in its statement.
Badri’s commitment to workforce diversity, has now resulted in 33 nationalities driving growth for the airline. This has led to a richer exchange of ideas, innovation and adaptability, it added. – TradeArabia News Service
