Royal Jordanian celebrates 60 years of operation

Royal Jordanian (RJ), the flag carrier of Jordan, will mark its 60th anniversary on December 15. It was launched by His Majesty King Hussein, in 1963, and is continuing to serve the kingdom as an ambassador of goodwill and friendship, the airline said.
It said, that having been modernised under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, Royal Jordanian will continue to adhere to its ambitious strategy of sustainability, support local community welfare and diverse sectors, including education.
RJ Vice Chairman/CEO Samer Majali appreciated the Jordanian government's continuous interest in the airline. RJ, he stressed, is a long-established company and a national icon that plays a pivotal role in connecting Jordan to the world.
RJ, Majali said, aims at supporting national efforts to project Jordan as a tourist destination and make Amman a gateway to the region, by offering more travel options to customers and building a robust regional network with increased frequencies to different cities.
The airline will soon expand its network to serve 60 destinations. Also, the company is planning to add 20 new A320 neo, eight Embraer E2 jets, and nine Boeing 787-9 aircraft to its fleet. – TradeArabia News Service
