Bahrain discusses preparations for Gastronomy Tourism Forum

Bahrain's preparations to host the ninth edition of the World Forum on Gastronomy Tourism 2024, the largest global event in food tourism, were discussed during a meeting between the kingdom's Tourism Minister Fatima Al Sairafi and Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of UN Tourism, in Riyadh.
The meeting came on the sidelines of the minister’s participation in the ceremony celebrating Saudi Arabia reaching 100 million tourists during the year 2023, a Bahrain News Agency report said.
The meeting reviewed Bahrain's tourism and entertainment potential, emphasising the sector's readiness to welcome participating delegations for the Gastronomy Forum, promising exceptional tourism experiences during their stay.
The minister also highlighted Bahrain's significant achievements in the areas of business tourism, conference organising, and leisure activities.
She emphasised the significant investments in tourism and hospitality that the kingdom has made within the framework of the Tourism Strategy 2022-2026.
Al Sairafi underscored Bahrain's commitment to advancing the global tourism sector, highlighting Bahrain's support for the UN Tourism to accelerate the growth and recovery of the tourism sector and raise its performance rates.
She mentioned the selection of Manama as the Gulf Tourism Capital for 2024, affirming its position as one of the key tourism hubs in the region, the report said.
