Saudi Arabia launches ‘smart gates’ at NEOM Bay Airport

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has launched the ‘Smart Gates’ project at NEOM Bay Airport in the Tabuk city of the kingdom, which aims to enhance services by enabling passengers to scan their biometric data at self-service kiosks, a report said.
The project, a collaboration between the General Directorate of Passports, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), and NEOM, is part of Saudi Arabia's initiatives to introduce high-efficiency digital solutions in cities, Saudi Press Agency, SPA, said.
The inauguration of the project was attended by Assistant Minister of Interior for Technology Affairs Prince Dr Bandar bin Abdullah bin Mishari, Sdaia President Dr Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, Director General of Passports Lieutenant General Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Yahya, Sdaia National Information Center Director Dr Esam bin Abdullah Al-Wagait, and NEOM CEO Eng Nadhmi Al-Nasr.
