Fairmont Hotel Riyadh enhances team with two key promotions
RIYADH, February 6, 2025
Fairmont Hotel Riyadh has reinforced its commitment to leadership growth and talent development with the dual promotion of Yasser Younes and Mousa Shihadeh to key executive roles.
Their career progression highlights the hotel’s dedication to nurturing talent from within, creating an environment where the next generation of hospitality leaders can thrive through mentorship and professional growth.
Director of Rooms
Since joining Fairmont Hotel Riyadh in 2019, Yasser has demonstrated a strong ability to enhance operational efficiencies and elevate the guest experience. Commencing as Director of Banquets, he quickly advanced to Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, followed by his appointment as Director of Food & Beverage, where he has been instrumental in shaping the hotel’s dining landscape.
Under his leadership, Fairmont Hotel Riyadh elevated its culinary offerings with exclusive cooking classes and a set menu collaboration with Michelin-starred Chef Nicolas Isnard at House of Grill. He also introduced high-profile partnerships, including Jo Malone London’s Afternoon Tea at The Savoy, and reimagined the dining experience at Che Figata! Additionally, he spearheaded the launch of the hotel’s first Ramadan tent last year, delivering an unforgettable Iftar experience.
Stepping into the role of Director of Rooms, Younes will oversee all aspects of the Rooms Division, focusing on personalized service, seamless guest experiences, and operational excellence.
Director of Food & Beverage
Upon joining Fairmont Hotel Riyadh in 2023, Mousa Shihadeh has gained valuable insights into Fairmont’s service philosophy by working closely with Younes, positioning him to continue driving excellence in the hotel’s Food and Beverage operations. Under Younes' mentorship, Mousa has advanced from Director of Banquets to Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, where he has played a pivotal role in implementing service enhancements, operational efficiencies, and innovative guest experiences, further solidifying his position as a key leader in the division.
In his new role as Director of Food & Beverage, Mousa will build upon the strong foundation set by Younes, leading the division with a focus on culinary innovation and refined service. He will continue to elevate Fairmont Hotel Riyadh’s reputation as a premier dining destination with newly introduced themed nights at The 365 and a series of seasonal dining experiences, offering guests fresh and dynamic culinary journeys throughout the year.
“At Fairmont Hotel Riyadh, we take pride in developing and empowering our team members. Yasser and Mousa’s journeys are the perfect example of how leadership can be nurtured from within,” said Rolf Lippuner, General Manager of Fairmont Hotel Riyadh.
“Yasser’s mentorship and strategic vision have been instrumental in shaping our Food and Beverage operations, and it has been remarkable to see Mousa grow under his leadership. Their combined expertise and deep understanding of Fairmont’s service excellence will continue to elevate our guest experiences.”
Fairmont Hotel Riyadh remains committed to developing future leaders by providing opportunities for growth and mentorship. The parallel career journeys of Younes and Shihadeh highlight the hotel’s dedication to fostering internal talent, ensuring that each promotion not only strengthens the team but also enhances the guest experience, he said. -TradeArabia News Service
