Haulotte’s new stars going the extra mile

With over 120 years of experience behind it, Haulotte Group continues to innovate and launch machines that tackle the most challenging working environments.

A new telescopic platform whose performance is claimed to be unmatched by any other machine currently on the market was unveiled at the Big 5 PMV show in Dubai last year and is set to be a star attraction at Haulotte Group’s stand at Intermat 2009.

Intermat is a major show for building construction which will be held in Paris, France, from April 20 to 25.
The new telescopic platform H28 TJ+ from Haulotte Group, a global people and material lifting equipment specialist, features a straight boom with a telescopic jib which offers a 6 m additional reach in the most challenging working environments, according to a spokesman for Haulotte.
“Due to its unique characteristics, this platform significantly increases productivity in a wide range of working environments: an outreach of 23 m and a 6 m telescopic jib with proportional controls that allows the operator to reach the most inaccessible areas; a capacity to rapidly lift up to 350 kg, operator comfort and outstanding mobility (oscillating axle, differential wheel lock),” the spokesman says.
The boom and the jib, with its octagonal cross-section in high-elastic modulus steel, are exceptionally rigid, providing greater stability to the H28 TJ+ for improved operator comfort. The new big boom has a narrow fixed-width frame, an oscillating axle and a differential wheel lock to allow for operation in a wide range of areas. Offering a maximum safety level, the boom complies with the working regulations (EN 280, ANSI, CSA and AS).
“Thus, in every respect, the H28 TJ+ makes work easier. It also benefits from the next-generation control panel used in the H43TPX and thanks to its proportional movements and its self-levelling system, the operator has maximum working comfort,” he adds.

HA 120PX
Another new boom from the Haulotte stable is the HA 120PX, an articulating model which is particularly suited to maintenance and repair work (heating/air-conditioning, checking electrical installations, window cleaning and painting).
Designed to facilitate work at heights of 12 m, the HA 120PX has simultaneous four-wheel drive and steer as standard, allowing easy access in difficult working areas and rough-terrain conditions.
Describing the machine, the spokesman says: “With up to four simultaneous and proportional movements, the HA 120PX boom reaches maximum height in 30 seconds. It has a standard, 150-m-wide basket, offering a maximum capacity of 230 kg and is fitted with a load managing system.
“A 26-cm ground clearance and a hydraulic differential lock system give exceptional all-terrain performance with a gradeability of up to 45 per cent. This allows easy access in difficult working areas and rough terrain conditions.
“Its narrow turning radius (3.85 m), combined with the zero tailswing give to the HA 120PX superb manoeuvrability whatever the working environment. Dual parallelogram riser allows ascent and descent along a vertical plane without retraction or extension of the boom, which offers comfort and maximum productivity.
“Due to the horizontal outreach of 6.60 m and its up-and-over clearance of 5.70 m, the HA 120PX can easily bypass obstacles, and cover a big working envelope.
“The narrow turning radius, the vertical jib rotation (140 degrees) and the 180- degree platform rotation facilitate use of the machine in any the working environment.
“Tilt controller (up to five degrees), automatic platform levelling, mechanical turret slewing hook, resistance in winds up to 45 km/hr and towing hooks and lifting eyes are additional features  that will benefit the user.”

X-Booms
Haulotte Group, which offers more than 60 models, boosted its offering with the addition of X-Booms – which are self-propelled booms – to its portfolio, following its acquisition of US firm Bil-Jax.
“Bil-Jax’s X-Boom self-propelled booms match industry standards with 45 per cent gradeability, 5.6 km/hr drive speed and four-wheel drive capability,” says the spokesman. “Hydraulic outriggers have replaced the heavy counterweights found on conventional self-propelled machines and its set-up is complete in less than 30 seconds. All this makes the product lighter and less expensive than other self-propelled booms on the market.”
X-Booms are available as two models – the 36XT, a telescopic boom featuring a working height of 13.4 m of and a 9.8 m maximum outreach, and the 45XA, an articulating boom with 15.6 m working height and 8.2 m of maximum outreach.

Summit Series
Another product from Bil-Jax is the trailer-mounted Summit Series booms, which comprises two telescopic boom models – 3632T and the most recent 2622T – and three models of articulating booms – the 3522A, 4527A and the 5533A.
All units feature an automatic, self-levelling hydraulic outrigger system that allows for set-up in 30 seconds. They all have a 227-kg platform load capacity and a large platform for two persons. Many options are available including a combination of DC and gas hybrid, material lift attachment, drive and set feature, and a retractable axle feature and jib rotate (available on specific models).
Haulotte Group, which has more than 120 years of experience behind it, has become a benchmark in the people and material lifting equipment markets. All Haulotte models are designed and developed in-house, in order to meet customers’ needs and to ensure their total satisfaction.
Recognising the importance of the Middle East and particularly the Gulf market, Haulotte set up a regional office in Dubai in 2007 to be closer to this market. It also plans to open offices in Libya and Algeria, establish a factory in China and set up a subsidiary in Canada.
Haulotte’s main customers are rental companies and construction firms.
