Kalzip presents snapshot of achievements

THE Kalzip standing seam system has been used to create unique, imaginatively-designed new buildings in the Middle East and all around the world. Some of these projects have now been portrayed in stunning photographs within a new 32-page full-colour brochure entitled ‘Kalzip sets standards’, which is available in Farsi and Arabic.

Local examples of these impressive and visually exciting Kalzip buildings include Dubai’s ski dome, the Millennium Grandstand at Nad Al Sheba, the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) Phase Two, all in the UAE; the Aspire sports dome in Doha, Qatar; and the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (Kaust) campus, Saudi Arabia.
Many technical details depicting typical roof build-ups, sheet profiles, components, and accessories from the extensive range of Kalzip products are also included in this informative brochure.
“Environment-friendly Kalzip is a lightweight, versatile, maintenance-free and highly-durable aluminium system that offers architects endless scope to create innovative and functional solutions for the building envelope,” says Michael Knudsen of Kalzip Middle East in Dubai. “Available in a wide range of profiles, colours and finishes, the Kalzip system has been used in the Middle East for 25 years and throughout the world for more than 40 years with more than 80 million sq m of sheets installed to date.”
The company has experienced personnel with the necessary technical expertise to manufacture very long sheets of Kalzip on-site anywhere in the world using mobile roll-forming equipment with integral generators. A whole array of hyperbolically-curved, elliptically-curved and Kalzip XT freeform sheets can also be manufactured, making it possible to transform computer-generated design concepts and structural principles into roofing reality, he says.
“This manufacturing flexibility, technical expertise and ever-increasing Kalzip product range is matched by the company’s drive to remain at the forefront of sustainable building envelope technology,” Knudsen adds.
Many examples of these innovative developments can be found in the brochure including two intriguing solar solutions that provide roof-integrated sources of renewable energy and Kalzip NatureRoof, which offers an ecological green roof option.
Kalzip also offers local support from its office in Dubai.
