SYNTHEON, a US-based company specialising in high-efficiency building envelope systems, has launched new and innovative construction products last month at the Greenbuild Middle East World Summit and Expo held in conjunction with Arabian Construction Week in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The products are part of Syncore building envelope systems and include the Elemix concrete additive and accel-E steel thermal-efficient panel.
“With a synthesis of high-performance materials, proprietary technology, and advanced component design, Syntheon products contribute to high-efficiency building envelopes that are faster to build, lighter and more flexible than ever before,” says a company spokesman. “Syncore building envelope systems are engineered to provide superior building advantages for architects, builders, developers and building owners with a single simple process. Integrated components and building materials from the Syncore wall, roof, deck and additives lines are lighter and assemble more rapidly and with less skilled labour than traditional construction, yet perform with superior strength and insulation capabilities.
“This new approach to building responsibly frees architects and builders to design and construct lighter, more energy-efficient buildings with flexibility that only a Syncore product solution can provide.”
Tony Torres, vice-president of building and construction for Syntheon, comments: “Syntheon systems work on a global scale to provide high-efficiency building envelopes with a vast network of distribution partners. We market worldwide, offering systematised solutions that capitalise on the latest technologies to enable the building of environmentally- and economically-sound structures that perform to consistent, reliable standards.”
Elaborating on the products within the system, he says that the Elemix concrete additive is lightweight, durable and globally consistent. It is a flexible material for most concrete applications, including precast, readymix and manufactured concrete products. “The product reinvents the power and possibilities of concrete with a new, lightweight polymer additive that uses its dynamic structure and dispersion characteristics to become an integral part of the concrete matrix,” Torres points out.
The accel-E steel thermal-efficient panel offers energy and construction efficiency, framing, cavity as well as continuous insulation, all in one.
“Building envelopes go up faster and more efficiently with the accel-E panel, which combines the strength and performance of cold-formed steel framing with the superior insulation properties of expanded polystyrene (EPS) using Plastbau technology,” Torres points out.
Building with Syntheon systems contribute significantly to Leed (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and International Green Building Standard points for superior building certification and better operating values, he adds.
