Dynapac’s new SD115C and SD135C models come with all desired features – optimised operation, maximum operator efficiency, high laydown production rates and reduced fan noise.

DYNAPAC has introduced a new, medium-class, Dynapac SD Series tracked paver, offering optimised operation, maximised operator efficiency with excellent all-round viewing, innovative operating concepts and reduced engine and fan noise.
Designed for high productivity on demanding city roads and highways, for paving wearing, binder and base courses, the SD115C and SD135C have high laydown production rates of up to 750 tonnes per hour and increased fuel efficiency.
The tracked pavers offer a basic width of 2.5 to 3 m, depending on the model and mode, which – when equipped with the hydraulic extendable screeds – provide a working width of up to 6 m. This can be increased further with extension boxes to 8 to 10 m, again, depending on the model.
“To offer increased operator comfort and efficiency, the driver’s seat can be easily turned 45 degrees, providing the driver with an excellent unobstructed view into the hopper, the auger compartment, screed, lane indicator and unloading lorry, without turning his head,” says a Dynapac spokesman, adding that the seats can be easily slid, pivoted and locked in every position.
The pavers feature a newly-developed control panel, with all function keys arranged according to the function group and frequency of operation. All buttons are raised and waterproofed, allowing safe operation even without the operator needing to look at the keyboard.
The new SD Series tracked paver features a 6 cu m capacity hopper and a laydown thickness of up to 300 mm. The SD135C is driven by a Deutz TCD2013 LO6 diesel engine rated at 140 kW (190 PS) at 1,800 rpm. The SD115 is rated at 120 kW at 1,800 rpm. A 1,600 rpm Eco mode unit is available.
“This low engine speed ensures reduced noise levels. These are reduced further by a thermically-activated fan control, particularly in the warm-up phase at the start of the shift operations,” he says.
In addition, sound is absorbed by insulated hoods, side flaps and rubber-cushioned cover sheets and mufflers, contributing to stress-free production process and undisturbed operator concentration. The fan and cooler are also separately mounted to reduce vibration with a revised airflow on the main frame. A 400-litre fuel tank ensures longer operation and reduced refuelling, the spokesman points out.
Featuring standard gas-heated screeds, electric-heated versions – including high-compaction electric screeds – are optionally available to ensure reduced carbon dioxide emissions.
Highlighting other features of the pavers, the spokesman says: “Internal stabilisation bars for the screed’s material guiding plates reduce setting up times when starting a new job. The screed remote controls on both sides of the paver also swivel for better access to the screed functions and levelling adjustments.
“A redesign of the VB510TV screed, shortening the screed body, together with new multiple, anti-slip, foldable footsteps, ensure that the complete paver is no more than 6,200-mm and 2,550-mm wide, allowing ease of transport together with a roller on to a low platform trailer.
“The new SD Series retains many well-proven features of Dynapac pavers such as the auger with a smaller inner drive unit ensuring no material segregation. Other features include the patented screed system with four guiding tubes, excellent traction even on unbound surfaces and no reinforcement of the screed.”
For ease of service, the top cover of the engine compartment is divided to provide improved ease of accessibility to the engine. The upper hand of the side covers can be completely removed, allowing the lower covers to completely swing open providing easy access to all maintenance and service points such as oil filters.
