Vogele mini-paver packs a punch

01 September 2010

FOUR years after the successful launch of its Super 600, Vogele has developed the new Super 700 mini-paver which retains the small dimensions of its predecessor while offering higher performance.

“The key benefit of the new unit is the larger maximum pave width of 3.2 m. Of course, this also requires more engine power, which is why a 45 kW Deutz engine is installed in the new mini-paver,” says a spokesman for the German manufacturer.
With a track width of just 1.1 m and a clearance width of no more than 1.2 m, the design of the Super 700 allows contractors to handle a wide range of paving applications. The machine is described as being the ideal candidate for small and medium-sized contracts, such as backfilling trenches, paving footpaths and cycle paths or surfacing small traffic areas and minor roads.
“Using a machine to pave floors in halls or underground car-parks places high demands on technology as manoeuvrability, and compact dimensions are vital. On these applications, too, the small Super 700 cuts a nice figure,” he says, adding that another strong point of the small paver is its suitability for use in the landscaping sector.

The machine is ideal for small and medium-sized contracts.

The machine is equipped with the AB 200 V extending screed (with vibrators in the basic screed and extending units), which has been specially designed for it. The screed has a basic width of 1.1 m and extends hydraulically up to 2 m. By addition of bolt-on extensions, the AB 200 V builds up to a maximum pave width of 3.2 m.
In addition, a special system for pave width reduction has been developed for jobs smaller than the screed’s basic width of 1.1 m. “This system allows the pave width of the AB 200 V to be reduced continuously from 1.1 m to 0.5 m, without a need for conversion. As the screed also floats on the mix with the system for pave width reduction fitted, optimal pre-compaction values are achieved at all times. What’s more, manual work is reduced to an absolute minimum,” the spokesman says.
Compact design concept allows paving up to within 5 cm of boundaries such as walls.
The entire process of paving is controlled easily and conveniently from the central operator’s console.
The control desk slides across the operator’s stand for optimal visibility. An extra upper footstep makes it possible for the operator to obtain an excellent overview over and beyond the paver.
Other user-friendly features include the clear arrangement of easy-to-use paver controls and indicators, easy maintenance with convenient access to all service points and the optional Niveltronic SC, an easy-to-handle automated grade and slope control, which enables precise monitoring and control of both tractor unit and screed provides for high accuracy of levels even on difficult terrain.
The machines have highly wear-resistant components installed for a long service life.
And just like the larger Vogele screeds, the AB 200 V also comes with electric screed heating. “The system ensures uniform distribution of the heat across the screed plates of the basic screed, the extending units and bolt-on extensions. The prerequisites for creating perfect surfaces are thus fulfilled,” he concludes.
