BOBCAT has launched a new brush saw attachment, intended for use on its compact loaders, and which provides a quick, convenient method for removing unwanted brush.
“It is ideal for municipal and landscaping work, controlling vegetation alongside roads and pavement and making firebreaks in forests. An advantage over tree shears is that the brush saw can cut slightly below ground level to avoid leaving stumps,” says a Bobcat official.
The brush saw features an efficient high-torque, low-speed motor and has a manually operated three-position boom angle and a left side discharge. The saw can be angled left or right by up to 12 degrees and has 15 teeth mounted on a cutting wheel with a diameter of 724 mm and a maximum tip speed of 910 m per minute. In addition to being able to cut slightly below ground level, the brush saw also can cut beyond the mounting frame of the saw when angled to the left.
The brush saw has an operating weight of 268 kg and length, width and height of 2159, 1219 and 749 mm, respectively. A special applications kit is required for use on the loader when operating the brush saw. Steel deflector shields protect the operator and loader from flying debris.
The Bobcat brush saw is approved for use on all Bobcat skid-steer loaders from the S100 to the S330, including the new generation S630 and S650 loaders. The brush saw is also approved for the entire line-up of Bobcat compact tracked loaders including the new generation T650 model.
