The Big 5

Clean air focus

01 October 2010

DRIVEN by a goal of improving air quality around the world, US-headquartered AAF International will showcase a line up of energy-efficient products at The Big 5 show. These products, which that bring down operating costs, include new filtration and chemical media and testing procedures.

Regional sales manager Prasad Natraj says AAF will promote its HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) air filter products, sand separators, chemical filtration equipment/media, in addition to technical solutions, energy conservation and Leed (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)-certified products and solutions.

At the show, AAF will introduce its latest HEPA (high-efficiency particle arrestor) filters that are low in energy consumption as well as its innovative solutions for energy conservation for existing buildings using chemical media and equipment, according to Hugo Hemel, marketing manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

AAF International provides air filtration solutions to provide clean air for people, processes and industry (both particulate and chemical filtration), promoting higher productivity while protecting processes that produce technology and products, and providing protection from airborne threats to our health. It manufactures a comprehensive range of air filters ranging from pre-filtration to highly-efficient HEPA and ULPA (ultra light particle arrestor) filters, filtration equipment such as housings and frames and gas phase filtration (media, delivery systems and equipment).

AAF offers the most comprehensive clean air solutions available in the world, says a company spokesman: “Our products are the industry benchmarks for quality and performance, from simple roughing filters, to air pollution control, to gas containment removal, to the highest-efficiency filters used in the most stringent clean environments.”

While the response to its participation at last year’s event was “moderate”, Natraj says the company hopes to do better this time. “We aim to strengthen our presence in the market through The Big 5, which has a huge reach across the Middle East, offering key business opportunities,” he says.

Despite the recession, AAF continues to invest in research and development while expanding its presence in the region by boosting its manpower while expanding its office and warehousing space.

As part of future plans, Natraj says AAF will continue to invest in new air filtration solutions that bring better filtration performance, higher energy efficiency and durability.

From its world headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky, AAF maintains operations in 22 countries with more than 2,600 employees worldwide. AAF is supported in its international ventures through the resources of its parent company Daikin Industries, based in Osaka, Japan, a diversified international manufacturing company and a global leader in air-conditioning.

“AAF offers the most comprehensive global manufacturing capabilities in the air-filtration industry, and each facility is specifically designed to manufacture and test the most complex clean air solutions. Additionally, each facility manufactures to the appropriate international quality and performance standards,” the spokesman adds.

Established in 1921, AAF International has its regional office (EMEA region) in the Netherlands with its Middle East office being in Dubai, UAE. It also has a subsidiary in Saudi Arabia.

At The Big 5 show, AAF International will be present at Stand 3C112.
