Spider lift ‘in a league of its own’

01 November 2010

HINOWA engineers have developed a one-of-its-kind spider lift that automatically destabilises its outriggers at the touch of a button.

The goals were clear in making the technologically-advanced GoldLift 17.80XL: Increase the working performance, maximise safety level and keep the simplicity of the existing machine, making it attractive to a wider range of users, according to a spokesman for its Italy-based manufacturer.

“GoldLift 17.80XL uses the GoldLift 14.70 principle and is the only spider lift on the market which destabilises the four outriggers by just pressing a button – an innovation introduced on the complete Light Lift IIIS line to simplify operation,” he says.

How it works
The machine adopts the new IIIS system (self-stabilising and destabilising system) that is also used on light lifts.

“This system provides automatic stabilisation holding just a button at an inclination of 11 degrees, while maintaining the ability to manually move every single stabiliser,” the spokesman says.

Being simple to manoeuvre, it ensures that training for the operator is quick and intuitive.

Elaborating on its operation, he says: “Weight selection (120 kg to 200 kg) is automatic, which means the GoldLift will not allow overloads in the basket, preventing errors in the operation of the machine.

“The controls of the aerial part, both on the machine base and in the basket, are hydraulic as in the GoldLift 14.70 and allow control of the jib from the ground as well. The tracked undercarriage is provided with a hydraulic system for undercarriage widening. It is possible to increase the stability of the machine during translation by just pressing a button.”
GoldLift 17.80XL is equipped with a rechargeable NiMH   (nickel-metal hydride) battery radio control and operates tracks, self stabilisation and destabilisation, motor ignition and stalling, movements speed adjustment, opening and closing of the undercarriage, emergency stop and service button.

The remote control is equipped with two batteries and can be connected to the GoldLift through cable to be used as wire control.

The battery charger of the remote control is well protected aboard the machine.

The remote control is equipped with an interactive display with self-diagnosis, breakdown notifications with operative indications to simplify the use of the machine and avoid machine downtime.

GoldLift 17.80XL IIIS platform is equipped with a basket rotation hydraulic system (124 degrees), which improves the performance at altitude.

The machine offers a series of remote assistance possibilities including a GPRS-GPS transmitter, through the RAHM (remote assistance for Hinowa machines). It enables connection to the Hinowa server, using a username and password, to view the position of the platform and detect possible malfunctions.
