New GypRoc panels offer easy access

01 September 2011

SAINT-GOBAIN Gyproc Middle East has launched a new range of high-quality access panels designed specifically for use in commercial, leisure and residential buildings where regular access is required to mechanical and electrical services installed behind lightweight partition, wall and ceiling systems.

Manufactured by Gyproc’s sister company in the UK, the new Gyproc access panels provide a range of easy-to-install budget and performance access solutions engineered to suit the company’s range of lightweight building systems, says a spokesperson for Gyproc.

The initial range of panels includes two distinct types – a standard range, for day-to-day applications where enhanced performance is not important; and a fire-rated range, which has been designed for use in lightweight fire-rated walls and partitions.

“Standard range panels offer the user a choice of popular sizes to meet different access requirements, as well as security options and finishes designed to match typical plasterboard finishes. The panels are easy and quick to fix into Gyproc systems and offer guaranteed performance as part of the SpecSure warranted system,” the spokesperson adds.

The new range of fire-rated panels is designed specifically to maintain system fire performance in partitions, walls and ceilings requiring up to 60-minutes fire insulation and integrity. They are described as being particularly suited for high-rise buildings, offices, public buildings and leisure facilities where additional fire performance is specified to allow rapid escape and access to fire services in the case of a fire.

Essential components for any Gyproc SpecSure warranted fire-rated system, the Gyproc fire-rated wall panels and fire-rated ceiling panels are available in three standard sizes, but are available to order in bespoke sizes to suit specific applications.

The wall panel comes complete with standard beaded frame and metal door, whilst the ceiling panel also offers the option of a plasterboard door finish, ideal for large monolithic ceiling areas where both appearance and easy access are important. All products feature a budget lock for controlled access to the services.

The new Gyproc access panels combine the expertise of one of Europe’s leading access specialists with Gyproc’s world-leading position in lightweight building systems, to provide a range of access options specifically for the growing drylining market.

Further details about the range, dimensions, performance options and finishes can be obtained from the company’s website (www.gyproc.ae/products).
