THE first Environmental Infrastructure Forum will be held in Saudi Arabia this month. Held under the patronage of King Abdullah and organised under the initiative of Prince Turki bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, the forum will be held from January 15 to 17 at the Park Hyatt in Jeddah.

It will focus on environmental impact assessments and sustainable infrastructure development, efficient building and transportation planning, developing integrated transportation systems, environmental considerations for developing water and waste water infrastructure, how municipalities can develop urban centres, and novel solutions to industrial and infrastructure challenges.

The forum is supported by the Presidency of Meteorology and Environ-ment, the Saudi Environmental Society, Jeddah Municipality, the United Nations Development Programme, and the Electricity and Cogeneration Authority.
