Aconex wins Musanada project

AUSTRALIA’S Aconex, one of the world’s largest providers of online collaboration solutions, has been selected to service the development of a Dh7-billion ($1.78 billion) infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi.
The South Shamkha Development by Musanada (Abu Dhabi General Services) will cover 40 sq km and provide housing for more than 125,000 people. It is due for completion in mid-2014.
The project will include 402 km of roadworks, storm-water systems, 430 km of sewerage networks and 460 km of potable water networks including reservoirs and pumping stations.
Aconex’s web-based system will be used by the project’s stakeholders including Musanada, the project management consultant Parsons, supervisory consultants and contractors to manage the large volume of documentation and correspondence. By using Aconex’s online collaborative solution, they will be able to access, distribute, track and archive the information in real-time using a unified central and secured platform.
