SIGMA Paints Middle East is currently promoting its latest innovative solution for the region’s healthcare industry, which is not only environment-friendly but also addresses the risk of contamination in such sensitive areas. The range is also offered in colours that have a psychologically soothing effect on patients, visitors and staff.
Sigmacare, as it is known, includes a range of specifically selected, high-performing, environment-friendly paints for the individual areas within healthcare facilities combined with a colour solution that promotes the well-being of patients, visitors and staff in the healthcare industry.
The Sigmacare concept includes tailored solutions for each aspect of the healthcare industry and addresses specifically and directly the needs of healthcare facilities, as well as the needs of the environment – whether it is a new-build construction project or the repair and maintenance of an existing healthcare facility, says the Dammam-based paint specialist.
“Sigma Paints is well-known for its efforts to provide solutions that cater to the exact market needs in an innovative way,” says Antoine Lejuez, marketing manager Middle East. “Our latest offering Sigmacare is a concept developed after years of detailed research and analysis to assess the needs of the market and provide it with the right solution. It is our aim to continuously stick to our values when developing any new offering – through innovation, dedication and durable protection.”
The paint system specifically addresses the requirements of critical areas such as treatment rooms, intensive care units and recovery rooms, where it must eliminate the risks associated with cross contamination or the spread of harmful bacteria.
Other functional areas of healthcare are also included within the Sigmacare concept, such as restaurants, kitchens, bathrooms and laundry facilities, where there is a higher risk of mould growth due to steam and/or condensation.
“The health risks from fungi and mould spores, which are well documented, make the use of an anti-fungus paint system essential,” he points out.
The Sigmacare concept comprises a wide range of environment-friendly, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial paint systems including Sigmacryl Premium ABF, a waterborne finish based on silver ion technology; Sigmacryl Flat and Silk AF, a waterborne finish paint with a low volatile organic compound (VOC) composition, which is resistant to mould and algae; and Sigmacryl Ecoplus Matt and Satin, the only zero VOC system in the Middle East, which enjoys excellent opacity, is odourless and has high scrub resistance, he states.
In addition to the functional aspects of maintaining and promoting health and hygiene, Sigmacare is integrated with the Colour and Lifestyle concept where colour plays a pivotal role. Particular attention is given to the beneficial psychological and positive influences of colour as well as the advantageous use of colour as both a directional aid and in the identification of various individual areas.
Sigma Paints’ general sales manager for Saudi Arabia and export countries Hossam Soliman reiterates the company’s focus on catering to clients’ requirements and ensuring their satisfaction. “Our main concern is customer satisfaction. Everything that we do revolves around providing solutions and the best service possible to our customers – whether they are end-users or professionals. Sigmacare will push the healthcare industry to new heights.”
The Sigmacare concept was launched in Saudi Arabia through a series or seminars, where healthcare professionals were invited to experience the effectiveness of the solution. The concept was launched in May last year in Saudi Arabia at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Jeddah, and at Le Meridien in Al Khobar.
