CHINA Sourcing Fair: hardware and building materials will for the seventh consecutive year bring its professional and quality sourcing platform to buyers of the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region, when it opens in Dubai, UAE, next month (May 28 to 30).
To be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC), the fair will be the largest China-products exhibition in the region. It will feature emerging suppliers and exporters from Greater China (China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan), many of whom offer attractive price points and quality products, wooing leading brands in the industry. This will include the largest group of Greater China’s hardware and building materials suppliers ever to participate.
The three-day fair will showcase the latest China-made products in categories that include building materials; general hardware; flooring, ceiling and roofing materials; wall cladding and coverings; windows and doors; bathroom and kitchen supplies; plumbing, heating and cooling suppliers; tools and accessories; industrial safety and law enforcement equipment; lawn and garden accessories; lighting and electrical fixture and fittings.
The show is an opportune sourcing platform for businesses looking to sell to the growing consumer markets in the region, said the organiser Global Sources, adding that it provides buyers with opportunities to interact with suppliers from Greater China.
Commenting on the choice of the venue, the organiser said Dubai is an ideal location for the fair as it is a re-export hub where the UAE’s imports from China are re-exported throughout the Gulf, Africa and Europe. For the past few years, numerous buyers from the Mena region have come to rely on the China Sourcing Fair as their primary means to meet China-based suppliers without having to travel to Asia, the organiser said.
Moreover, the UAE is China’s second largest trade partner in the GCC, and the largest market for China-made product exports in the Middle East. China’s exports to the UAE grew 28 per cent year-on-year to $24.3 billion in 2011, according to China’s customs data.
Last year, 12,680 visitors from countries such as the Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kuwait and Lebanon as well as UAE residents attended the fair which was held last May.
