Kale furniture range lauded for innovation

01 August 2013

KALE has been reinforcing its brand of bathrooms solutions around the world through product innovation, boosting awareness of its quality products and expanding its global footprint.

One of its latest innovations, the Beyaz Saray series of bathroom furniture, in fact has received international recognition at the iF Design Award 2013 in Germany for its innovative and user-friendly design.

Designed to complement ceramic tiles, the Beyaz Saray Series comes in white, mocha, anthracite and ebony and brings an exquisite synergy to bathrooms.

“The series, with its modular design and customised built-in compartments, simplifies the life of end-users. It also transfers strong modern lines into bathrooms with a minimalist pureness,” says a spokesperson for Kale.

The Beyaz Saray series, with built-in compartments within the drawers, helps keep personal belongings separate while featuring upper and lower drawers to keep belongings neat and tidy. It also sports a sensor-fitted lighting system that is both comfortable and practical to use.

Commenting on some of the key features of Beyaz Saray, he says: “The light and wall-hung water closet (WC) matches the minimalistic look of the bathroom. With a toilet seat cover that closes slowly and silently, this WC allows for durability while its hidden assembly prevents visual clutter. Thanks to its aqua-smart closet with 1.5 to 2.7 litres capacity, it also contributes to water conservation considerably.

“The cabinets are available with shock absorbance features and drawer options that  provide extra storage, while the single-axis movement of the stand modules allows customers to use these units in any way they want. Another important feature is the mirror fitted with anti-fog characteristics that prevents steam from collecting on the surface,” he adds.

Expansion

Meanwhile, Kale Group is expanding its chain stores abroad with the aim of replicating its domestic market success in the global arena where it attaches particular importance to European, Middle Eastern and Far Eastern markets.

Exporting its Canakkale Seramik, Kalebodur, Kalekim and Kale brand products as well as its Italian Edilcuoghi and Edilgress brand products to more than 400 sales points in 100 countries so far, Kale Group aims to increase the number of its showrooms abroad to 23 by next year from the current 14.

These showrooms offer more than 3,000 innovative, environment-friendly and functional products to consumers and professionals.

“We want to establish a balance between domestic and global sales by growing in international markets in harmony with the local dynamics,” says Ihsan Karagoz, chief marketing officer of building materials at the Kale Group.

“Our goal is to carry our market structure and operations in Turkey into export markets, starting first with the strategic ones. Although we have been selling to Europe on a large scale for many years now, the business cycles and growth opportunities have led us to focus more on the markets of the Middle East and Far East,” says Karagoz.

“We are planning to open a showroom in Jeddah after Riyadh in Saudi Arabia and we want to show the importance we attach to Iraq by opening new showrooms in addition to the ones in Baghdad and Irbil. Indeed, we want to increase the number of our showrooms in Iraq to 10 by the end of 2014. And in Libya, we will open a new showroom in Misrata after Tripoli.”

In Libya, Kale recently finished work at the five-star Sirte Seaside Resort hotel in the Sirte region, where it supplied its Çanakkale Seramik porcelain tiles.

This apart, Kale recently became the first Turkish company to receive an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) approved by the German Construction and Environment Institute (Institut Bauen und Umwelt) for all of its ceramic product groups, including floor, wall, porcelain tile, Sinterflex and vitrified tiles.

Kale, part of the well-diversified Kale Group, manufactures sanitary ware and auxiliary products for modern bathrooms, bathroom and kitchen accessories, acrylic bathtubs and shower trays, and shower-bathtub cabins. Kale Group, Europe’s third and the world’s 12 largest ceramics manufacturer, comprises 17 companies.
