Demand surges for Terex washing systems

01 June 2014

Terex Washing Systems (TWS) is responding to increased enquiries and demand in the Gulf region for its washing products, which are being facilitated through the five dedicated TWS distributors in this area.

In an effort to develop the Gulf markets, TWS appointed a dedicated sales manager for the Gulf region in August 2013 to boost its growth and provide a dedicated line of support for both the TWS distributor network and customers.

“The five dedicated distributors are located in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, the UAE and Qatar, who have committed team members focusing in washing, each with extensive knowledge, expertise and service capabilities in washing solutions,” says a spokesman for the company. “The dealers and customers in these regions are further supported by the TWS dedicated engineering and after-sales technicians.”

To date, TWS has installed a number of static, modular and mobile plants in the Gulf region, which are successfully processing crushed quarry stone to produce high quality sand, typically sized 0-5, 5-12,
12-22 mm.

The most popular concepts to date have been the Finesmaster Compact and Bucketwheel ranges, both unique sand plants that are suited for single and double grade sand applications. Both ranges are particularly suited to high wearing abrasive sands as the buckets reduce wear on the rubber-lined centrifugal pump and in the case of the Finesmaster, reduces wear on the cyclones.

“Recently, there has been an increased interest in true modular washing concepts, particularly TWS newest solutions, such as the Aggresand and Aggrescrub ranges,” he adds.

The Aggresand 165 was introduced to the world of washing last year and 2014 sees the official launch of a further two new cutting-edge solutions, namely the larger Aggresand 206 (up to 400 tonnes per hour) and the Aggrescrub 150, both to be officially launched at Hillhead, the leading exhibition in Europe dedicated to the quarrying industry to be held UK, this month (June).

“The increased enquiries and demand in the region is ultimately being driven by the resurgence in the GCC civil construction market, with a total of $59 billion in contracts awarded last year, a level not seen since 2008,” he says, citing Meed Insight’s GCC Construction Report 2014.

According to the report, the civil construction market has been the largest sector in the GCC projects sector, driven mainly by booming economies and populations in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The current value of live civil construction projects is just over $1.3 trillion.

Florin Ioia, TWS regional sales manager in Middle East, comments: “The return of growth in the Gulf markets is extremely encouraging and presents exciting opportunities for TWS. We are continually developing our business and have to date supplied multiple washing solutions to a number of key customers in the Gulf region. We have a strategy in place to continue to expand and maximise on the massive potential that is here.

“TWS provides a one-stop shop for all washing solutions and with the continued introduction of new innovative washplants, TWS is set to increase market share in this region. We are excited to work with customers to solve their washing problems, add value to their business and provide effective and efficient solutions.”
