Kingdom Hospital launches centre
KINGDOM Hospital in Riyadh has launched a state-of-the-art medical centre specialising in reproductive technology.
The hospital’s Centre for Assisted Reproductive Technology provides a comprehensive range of safe and effective treatment modalities for infertility, including in vitro fertilisation (IVF), as well embryo cryopreservation in compliance with Islamic Shariah. In addition, the centre offers advanced laparoscopic techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of infertility.
First marine park on Red Sea shores
SAUDI ARABIA'S first marine park is set to be built at Dhahban, a picnic spot on the shores of the Red Sea, 40 km from Jeddah, said an Arab News report.
The 110,000-sq-m park will have extensive landscaping and will be equipped with a wide range of recreational facilities and restaurants.
Essar to serve Jazan projects
MOHAMMED Al Mojil Group (MMG), a leading Saudi construction service provider, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Dubai-headquartered Essar Projects (EPL), a global engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) contractor, to provide construction services for project developments in Jazan. This includes Saudi Aramco’s 400,000 barrels-per-day (bpd) Jazan refinery, which will be the mainstay of a new economic city. The refinery is designed to process up to 75,000 bpd of gasoline, 250,000 bpd of low-sulphur diesel and 80,000 bpd of vacuum distillation material to be used as fuel for power plants.
Posco to build automobile plant
POSCO’S engineering and construction division will construct an automobile assembly plant in Saudi Arabia – a project led by Daewoo International Corporation, the Korean firm’s trading subsidiary.
The automobile assembly plant will produce out 2.0- to 2.4-litre mid-sized cars for the Saudi middle class at the cost of $1 billion. Posco will be charged with supplying steel sheets while Posco E&C with plant construction. The plant will be ready by the second half of 2017.
DAT tools used on Riyadh Metro
DAT instruments, an Italian specialist in the design and production of instruments and software used in special foundation jobs, said it has supplied its dataloggers for the Riyadh Metro project to achieve Accurate design and construction of all tunnels and stations.
DAT Instruments said projects like the Riyadh Metro involved extensive geological studies on soil permeability. The company’s Lugeon/Lefranc test datalogger – the Jet DSP 100/IR – is being used to evaluate in real time and record water flow, pressure and final volume, said the company.
