More power with Greenheck range

Greenheck’s new range consists of fans, duct heaters and a selection of controls all meant to improve indoor air quality and increase efficiency.

GREENHECK, a global leader in air movement and control equipment manufacturing, has launched new exhaust fans and duct heaters that promise enhanced efficiency, greater indoor comfort and low sound levels.

Designed for nearly silent operation, Greenheck’s new ceiling exhaust fan models SP-80 and SP-110 feature energy-efficient EC (electronically commutated) motor technology. An adjustable low cfm (cu ft per minute) airflow setting allows precise adjustment to prevent over-ventilating and maximises efficiency, while an adjustable time delay sets how long the fan will run on high speed before returning to a continuous lower speed, explains a spokesman for the company.

Their performance ranges from 30 to 110 cfm airflow and up to 0.6 inch wg (inch water gauge).

“These SP-80 and SP-110 models are easy to install in new or retrofit construction and are recommended for applications such as restrooms, offices and storage/janitorial rooms,” he says.

Licensed to bear the Amca (Air Movement and Control Association)-certified sound and air performance seal, the models are UL (Underwriters Laboratories)-listed and also meet Ashrae 62.2 and 62.1, Leed (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), Energy Star Most Efficient, CA Title 24, and Washington State Energy Code.

Another latest innovation is the new Vektor-MS inline mixed flow laboratory exhaust fan, which is designed to reduce fan energy in demand-based laboratory exhaust applications and safely allows variable frequency drives to be applied to laboratory exhaust fans.

Featuring Sure-Aire noninvasive flow monitoring, the exhaust fan responds to changes in airflow and static pressure in an occupied space, causing the fan’s operation to adjust throughout the day based on demand while the variable geometry discharge nozzle modulates to maintain constant discharge velocity at the fan exit.

Available in belt or direct drive configurations, the Vektor-MS utilises mixed flow impeller technology and a bifurcated fan housing design that allows safe, easy access to all drive components. Its “vacuum shaft seal” ensures that hazardous or noxious fumes do not escape through the shaft opening. The systems have a small, installed footprint, requiring minimal roof space. With performance capacities ranging from 1,500 cfm to 38,000 cfm and up to 8 inch wg, the Vektor-MS meets Ansi Z9.5, NFPA 45 and Ashrae Chapter 45 lab design guidelines and is licensed to bear the Amca seal for sound and air performance.

Greenheck has also launched two new models of duct heaters. Model IDHB is configurable for most applications in sizes up to 36 by 36 inches, while Model IDHC is customisable with enhanced features and a maximum heating capacity of 475 kW. Both models feature 50 or 60 Hz design, fan interlock, a power terminal block, a control board, grounding lugs, an automatic limit switch for primary over-temperature protection, and a manual reset limit switch for secondary over-temperature protection.

All heaters are UL/CSA (Canadian Standards Association) listed and can be used in a range of applications including space, primary, secondary, auxiliary, and reheating.

The company also offers a selection of Vari-Green controls to maximise the energy efficiency of ventilation systems in a variety of applications when used in conjunction with Greenheck’s Vari-Green motor. For applications where indoor air quality is to be maintained, Greenheck offers a temperature/humidity control or a VOC (volatile organic compounds) control. Via programmable set points, the control automatically adjusts the fans’ ventilation rate to or from the area by increasing or decreasing fan speed. A constant pressure control can help monitor static pressure in demand-controlled ventilation applications with multiple pressure changes, or velocity pressure where a constant cfm level within a duct needs to be maintained. Transformers, remote dials and two-speed controls are also available.

Greenheck is a leading manufacturer of air-movement and control equipment. Its flagship ventilation products are typically found behind walls, in ductwork or on the roofs of hospitals, office buildings, hotels, shopping malls, restaurants, schools, industrial plants and other commercial buildings. These products are basically designed to move air in, out and around a building, making life inside a lot more pleasant.

Greenheck is also a major, multi-brand corporation, representing a number of other affiliated entities (Accurex, Airolite, Innovent, Precision Coils, and Valent) offering architectural louvres and sunshades, specialised air-handling systems, heating and cooling coils and many related accessories and services.

Since its inception in 1947 as a tiny sheet metal shop in Schofield, Wisconsin, the company has grown immensely with Greenheck brand fans and ventilators, centrifugal and vane axial fans, make-up air units, energy-recovery ventilators, dampers, louvres, kitchen ventilation systems, laboratory exhaust systems, indoor air handling units, and coils now shipped around the globe.

The company consistently invests substantially in expansion and new facilities designed to better serve its customers. In recent years, in response to the ever-increasing demand for products, it has steadily increased its manufacturing space, adding many thousands of square feet of capacity in Schofield and other US locations, and in other countries.

Greenheck’s ventilation products are available worldwide and the company has representatives in all the GCC countries. It has an international distribution centre located in Dubai, UAE.
