DRAKE & Scull International (DSI) has won four major turnkey contracts worth Dh168 million ($45.73 million) in Oman.
The contracts were secured by Drake & Scull Engineering (DSE) Oman, a subsidiary of DSI, a market leader in the integrated design, engineering and construction of general contracting, engineering, rail, oil and gas, water and wastewater treatment,
Under the terms of the first agreement, DSE Oman will provide mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services for a government facility in Al Ghubrah, Muscat. The company has commenced work on the site, which is due for completion next year.
The scope of work under the second agreement comprises the completion of MEP works for a government complex in Nizwa. The project, spread over an area of 36,452 sq m, includes residential and essential services facilities and is scheduled for completion in 2016.
Additionally, DSE Oman will install essential services for an iconic leisure and tourism project in Muscat. It will also upgrade core MEP systems at a major oil refiner, providing engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services on the major petrochemical development.
Ahmad Al Naser, managing director of DSE, said: “These contracts are in line with our strategic growth plans for Oman which is currently experiencing a robust projects market.”
DSE – which has undertaken several key projects in Oman, including the Muscat Royal Orchestra, the National Museum of Oman, and the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque – is currently delivering MEP services on the New Muscat International Airport and the Duqm Hotel.
