CRYSTAL Lagoons has launched a one-of-a-kind mega lagoon development in Saudi Arabia, which will be a key leisure component of a $4-billion mixed-used project north of Jeddah. The second project in the country for the company, the eight-hectare lagoon will be part of the ongoing 240-hectare development by the Prince Sultan Cultural Centre (PSCC).






THERE was a significant upswing in the value of awarded contracts in Saudi Arabia during the second quarter of 2014, topping SR84.9 billion ($22.63 billion), the National Commercial Bank (NCB) said in a report.






SAUDI ARABIA has awarded a contract to China Railway Construction Corporation for the renewal of the freight railway line between Dammam and Riyadh. The SR122.8 million ($32.5 million) deal was signed by Saudi Railways Organisation (SRO) president Mohamed Khalid Al Suwaiket with Chinese authorities, said an Arab News report.

900-km border fence to be built SAUDI ARABIA has announced plans to build a five-layer 900-km fence to secure its border with Iraq, according to state media reports. Stretching from Hafar Al Batin, near the Iraq-Kuwait border to the northeast town of Turaif, the highly sophisticated fence aims to deter “infiltrators and smugglers”.
