Drake & Scull Saudi Arabia, a subsidiary of Drake & Scull International (DSI), has won a $51.45-million contract for a hos-pital project in Riyadh.
The scope of the mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) contract for Al Dara Hospital and Medical Centre includes complete installation, testing and commissioning, of critical MEP systems like heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC), plumbing and fire-fighting system, water treatment plant, medical gases system, fuel system, building man-agement system and electrical systems.
Work will start immediately on the 107-bed hospital, which is expected to be completed by January 2016.
The hospital, located close to the prestigious King Faisal Specialist Hospital, will be the city’s largest and technically ad-vanced outpatient centre spread over an area of 27,500 sq m.
It is a low-rise building built on a gross floor area of 101,000 sq m, comprising an eastern wing of ground plus six floors, a western wing of ground plus four floors, and a two-storey basement. Carillion Saudi Arabia is the main contractor of this outpatient facility.
