Developer unveils innovation centre

01 January 2016

Diamond Developers, a leading real estate and property developer in Dubai, UAE, has launched its new innovation centre project, a dedicated facility designed to advance progress in the field of sustainability.

The first institution of its kind in the UAE, the Diamond Innovation Centre will facilitate the study of environment-friendly and renewable practices.

The new initiative is part of the five-million-sq-ft The Sustainable City (TSC) project in Dubai, where the developer last month welcomed its first set of tenants officially. Located in Dubailand on Al Qudra Road, it is the region’s first fully integrated sustainable community ushering in a new era for ecological and environmentally-friendly living, it added.

The centre is one of the key components of Phase Two of TSC, which has been designed around the three pillars of sustainability – economic, environmental and social, said the developer, while pointing out that the city places a priority on nature, green spaces, health, education and recreational activities.

“The centre will be the first negative lifecycle footprint building in the region. Over its 50-year lifespan, the building will produce 140 per cent of its energy requirements, covering its operational consumption while offsetting its manufacturing, construction and demolition carbon emissions,” said Faris Saeed, the chief executive of Diamond Developers.
