International facilities management company Macro has been awarded a contract with Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) to manage its facilities and fit-out services for the first completed office building at the Dubai Trade Centre District (DTCD) in Dubai, UAE.
Macro will also provide a helpdesk and computer-aided facilities management (CAFM) system for three years.
The contract includes one commercial office building, the surrounding public space, a substation and the basement of phase 1A2 of the DTCD, adjacent to the Emirates Towers and Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The development’s masterplan includes commercial, hotels, retail and associated infrastructure.
Macro will manage any tenant fit-out works and support DWTC in the transition of the office building from the construction phase to the operational phase. A reception service for the main building will be provided during office hours and Macro’s own fm24 will set up and operate the helpdesk and CAFM service. Other services to be managed by Macro include mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP), cleaning, waste management and pest control.
Marco director of operations Nigel Davies said: “We are thrilled to be working with the Dubai World Trade Centre and are excited to embark on this project. DTCD is a world class mixed-use development and we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship.”
The office building, designed and constructed to provide grade A office accommodation, includes five basement floors, eight office floors, ground floor retail as well as food and beverage (F&B) outlets. The building is targeting environmental certification in accordance with Leed (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold for shell-and-core specification.
