Work on the Zallaq Harbour project in Bahrain is progressing well with several of the key development phases completed as per schedule.
The harbour has the capacity to accommodate 112 boats, each 10 m long. Also, the facility boasts 56 retail stores for sailing equipment, a shaded yard to fix and maintain boats tools and a parking lot.
Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf, who visit the project site, was also updated on the construction of a road to serve the harbour. Completion of the road is to coincide with the completion of construction works involved in the project. The minister also approved the construction of a garden within the boundaries of the harbour to serve residents of the area.
In another development, the ministry said work has started on the sewerage network project in the Sanad and Nasfa area of the kingdom. The BD1.39-million ($3.68 million) project, which was awarded to Downtown Construction, will cover Block 733 in Nasfa and part of Block 743 in Sanad.
