First indoor snow theme park opens

Saudi Arabia has announced the opening of its first indoor snow theme park – Snow City – which has been constructed on a 5,000-sq-m area in Al Othaim Mall Rabwa in capital Riyadh at a cost of around SR100 million ($26.6 million).

The Snow City, the first comprehensive snow attraction in the kingdom, features stylishly designed ice huts. The facility, which boasts an hourly capacity of 350 people, is also host to various entertainment aspects, such as a panoramic suspension bridge, ice bumper cars, sledge and ski zone, rope courses, climbing wall, snowmobiles, and many others.

It was inaugurated by Prince Faisal bin Bandar, the governor of Riyadh, in the presence of several top ranking government officials and the executives of Al Othaim Holding.

Snow City was launched by Al Othaim Leisure and Tourism Company, part of Al Othaim Holding board.
