Adshead Ratcliffe and Company, a leading UK-based manufacturer, is exhibiting at this year’s Big 5 in Dubai to showcase its range of sealants for the construction industry.
Established since 1859, Adshead Ratcliffe manufactures and supplies the Arbo brand of sealants which are respected throughout the building, glazing and construction industries worldwide, by architects, specifiers and contractors alike.
It also provides specialist products for the marine, automotive and industrial sectors for its broad customer base throughout these sectors.
“As a dedicated sealant manufacturer, Adshead Ratcliffe is able to supply products to meet virtually any requirements,” says a spokesman for the company.
“Our in-house research and development facilities at the Belper site in Derbyshire, England, are able to tailor-make sealants for more specialised applications and for colour matching to order. We can also manufacture silicone with the customers’ own label, if required. In addition, we test products for their adhesion and write specifications for architects and main contractors – all free of charge.”
Adshead Ratcliffe says it is the only company that offers the Arbomaster Warranty Scheme, which offers guarantees to the client, security and enhanced business opportunities to the partnering application companies and reinforces its market-leading position in this industry sector.
“Our commitment to quality and environment is reflected in our ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 certification, along with CE markings and membership of the British Adhesive and Sealants Association (BASA), and the British Standards Institute (BSI).”
Adshead Ratcliffe’s range of products includes Arbokol 682, which enables customers to secure glass balustrades within a channel without the need for handrails or mechanical fixings that impact on sight lines. Available in either gun or pouring grades for both interior and exterior (with Arbosil 1096 capping off) applications, Arbokol 682 allows customers to combine style with safety that complements modern building design.
Adshead Ratcliffe also has built up a base of natural stone materials and is able to advise on the suitability of particular sealants with natural stone.
“For years, architects and natural stone specialists encountered the problem of sealing joints in natural stone without migratory staining, which occurs when the plasticisers within the sealant migrate in the porosity of the stone causing a dark mark or stain on either side of the joint edge,” says the spokesman.
During the early 1990s, Adshead Ratcliffe started research and testing to solve migratory staining issues at Canary Wharf.
“Today, this expertise is being used in conjunction with our Arbosil XL1099, a non-staining silicone sealant, in new projects in various locations where natural stone is used,” adds the spokesman.
Adshead Ratcliffe’s products are used by silicone applicators; window manufacturers and installers; construction companies, housing, rail, bridges, roads; roofing companies, installers and manufacturers; boat builders; glass balustrade installers and manufacturers; and concrete companies.
Adshead Ratcliffe can be visited at Stand 7D284, Hall 7, at The Big 5.
