UDC invests $329m to develop Pearl-Qatar

01 December 2016

United Development Company (UDC) has signed contracts worth QR716 million ($197 million) to develop three new projects at its flagship development The Pearl-Qatar.

The signing will see UDC develop Abraj Al Mutahidah Towers in Viva Bahriya, further develop the infrastructure in Giardino Village and construct 10 villas in the same precinct, through investments worth QR1.2 billion ($329.4 million).

The contracts are in line with a five-year plan aimed at revitalising investments in new infrastructure at The Pearl-Qatar including modernising and expanding the road network as part of a new urban plan which will feature a hospital and a school in Giardino Village.

Leighton Contracting Qatar has been commissioned to carry out construction of Al Mutahidah Towers’ main building. Comprising 480 apartments in the beachfront precinct of Viva Bahriya, the project is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2019 and is set to become one of the most attractive residential destinations in Doha.

The second contract was awarded to Navayuga Engineering Company for infrastructure works at Giardino Village.

UDC also plans to construct 10 luxurious villas in this private precinct and has appointed Promer Qatar for this project. The villas will be handed over within 18 months.
