Arabtec wins Damac villas deal
Damac Properties has awarded Arabtec Construction a Dh628-million ($171 million) contract to develop 1,296 villas at its Akoya Oxygen master development in Dubai.
Arabtec will begin construction in the third quarter of this year at the 55-million-sq-ft green development in Dubailand, and is expected to complete the project within 24 months.
Akoya Oxygen offers a tranquil environment with lush, green surroundings in a secluded, family-friendly community.
Belhasa inks Midtown contract
Belhasa Engineering and Contracting Company has been awarded a Dh600-million ($163.3 million) contract by Deyaar Development for its Afnan and Dania districts at Midtown project in Dubai.
Midtown, an integrated urban community in Dubai Production City, development boasts 27 buildings with a built-up area of almost 5 million sq ft.The Afnan district features 659 apartments, while Dania District has 579 apartments.
The contract between Deyaar and Belhasa to build 1,238 units is to be completed in 29 months, with the superstructure in Afnan and Dania districts expected to be completed by December 2018.
DSI to begin Fairmont MEP work
Drake & Scull International (DSI) has announced that it will proceed with the mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) works for the Fairmont Abu Dhabi Hotel and Serviced Apartments under a Dh233-million ($63.44 million) contract.
Located adjacent to the Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi, the Fairmont Abu Dhabi Hotel and Apartments Towers are owned by Abu Dhabi-based National Investment Corporation. The Dh1-billion ($272 million) development is a 39-floor Arabian-themed arched structure, occupying an area of 178,000 sq m with an extensive water frontage. The tower comprising 563 hotel rooms and 249 serviced apartments.
