Luxury low-rise apartments are to be built under Phase Three at Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City – District One.
The one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments will add another component to the development, complementing the villas and mansions built under Phases One and Two.
District One, which includes a 7-km-long lagoon, beaches, a 14-km boardwalk and parklands, is being developed under a joint venture between Meydan and Sobha.
Saeed Humaid Al Tayer, the chairman and CEO of Meydan, said: “District One Residences will offer home owners the only waterfront apartment living in the centre of the city, with beachfront access for every resident and a new level of community living at a distinguished address.
“We are proud to be adding to Dubai’s status as one of the most desirable cities in the world in which to live. We are creating a beautiful, luxurious community offering the most central freehold villa and apartment properties in the heart of the city’s centre overlooking what will become the world’s largest crystal lagoon,” he added.
PNC Menon, the chairman and founder of Sobha Group, said: “With the handover of Phase One underway and construction of Phase Two continuing apace, the launch of Phase Three is a response to demand for low-rise apartment options in the heart of the city centre. We expect to receive a good deal of interest from end users and investors alike, who recognise that luxury waterfront apartment living can offer excellent returns and unrivalled experiences.”
The crystal lagoon at District One will offer residents access to swimming, paddle boarding, and other non-motorised aquatic activities.
“Environmentally friendly technology keeps lagoon waters crystal clear, adding to the appeal of a feature which industry experts say will overtake golf courses to become the amenity of the future for luxury real estate developments,” said Menon.
Meanwhile, the 8.4-km cycling and running track has become one of the most popular attractions in town for the UAE’s growing number of cyclists and runners since its launch in December 2015.
Two new tunnels have also been added to the track to ensure the safety of all those taking advantage of the free facilities, which are equipped with 386 solar light poles for environmentally friendly and energy efficient light at night, he said.
District One is situated next to the spectacular Meydan One, a leisure, commercial, and entertainment destination which will host the world’s tallest residential tower, the tallest observation deck, the longest indoor ski slope and the largest dancing fountain as well as the Meydan One Mall.
