More than 350 local and international brands from the heavy construction industry will exhibit at The Big 5 Heavy, which will be held next month (March 26 to 28) in Dubai, UAE.

To be staged at the Dubai World Trade Centre, The Big 5 Heavy is the largest dedicated heavy construction industry exhibition in the region. Organised by dmg events Middle East, Asia and Africa, it is a re-launch of the Middle East Concrete and PMV Live events.

Richard Pavitt, event director of The Big 5 Heavy 2018, foresees that “harnessing the reputation of the largest construction show in Middle East, The Big 5, and focusing it on a specific sector will bring exhibitors face-to-face with a high number of solely dedicated customers.”

The event will showcase innovative solutions and products clustered into five product sectors: Middle East Concrete, PMV Live, Foundations and Geotechnical, Mining and Quarrying, and Road Construction.

“More than just an exhibition, The Big 5 Heavy will also offer a broad educational agenda with free-to-attend CPD (Continuing Professional Development)-certified workshops, as well as the ACI Concrete Essentials Seminar Series held by the American Concrete Institute,” the spokesman said.

Caterpillar and Al Bahar have chosen the Big 5 Heavy to showcase their latest products for the construction and infrastructure in the Middle East, and are expected to have the biggest stand at the exhibition.

One of the oldest companies in the concrete-laying industry, Compagnia Italiana Forme Acciai (Cifa) has also chosen the event as its platform for the GCC region.

Other show features include the Inspiring Infrastructure Award which recognises the region’s top engineering consultancies for their inspirational work on built environments, as well as The Big 5 Heavy Product Award, which will be awarded to the top products, services and technologies in the industry. The event will also include a live demo area, the brand new innovation trail, the Scaffolding Climbing Challenge.
